In an effort make Stamford a Purple Heart City, the City and Stamford Veterans Council is trying to collect names of those Stamford residents who have received a Purple Heart medal.
If any of you have received a Purple Heart medal or know of a fellow veteran who has earned one, please let me know so we can start the process of collecting names. You can fill out an online form

We envision a ceremony on August 7th, National Purple Heart Day. where we can recognize those recipients who are still with us and/or families of those who are deceased and be officially declared a Purple Heart City.
