STAMFORD — The Stamford Patriotic & Special Events Commission, Stamford Veterans Council and Stamford Veterans Park Partnership recognized and honored the area's veterans with a parade and ceremony Sunday with Maj. Gen. Thomas R. Bouchard, retired from the U.S. Army, as grand marshal.
The parade stepped off around noon and ran from the Stamford Police Department to Veterans Memorial Park on Atlantic Street, where a brief ceremony was held.
Stamford Veterans Park Partnership then unveiled a new permanent installation of story boards that explored the city's history and gave honor to those who served in the armed forces.
