WELCOME TO SPRINGDALE POST NO. 9617

Veterans of Foreign Wars - Stamford CT
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Kosovo, Persian Gulf, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

Commander's Corner

Commander Robert Cody

The month of September marks the end of Summer. Thank you to all that made the picnic a great success. Our next post meeting is Wednesday 16 September at our usual location at the Belltown Fire Department. Don't forget we are meeting earlier at 7:00 pm.

Two big events in September at the Veterans Stand Down on Saturday 12 September. This is a great opportunity to see all the benefits available to veterans. Visit our webpage for details. This will be Stamford's third Stand Down. Other locations are hosting as well if Stamford is not your closest Stand Down.

On 25 September American Legion Post 3 will hold the second annual Gala event. Fred Drenkhahn, our Post Comrade, centenarian and WWII veterans will be honored at this event.

In October the Stamford Veterans Park Partnership will honor Rick Redniss with the 2026 Patriot Award and will host an event at the Landmark building atrium on 28 October.

Please check the calendar and our webpages for all the details. Hope to see you at these events and at our next regular Post meeting.
