Veterans of Foreign Wars - Stamford CT
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Kosovo, Persian Gulf, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

The month of October brings on cooler weather and preparations for Veterans Day events. Thank you to all that made the September Veterans Stand Down a great success. Our next post meeting is Wednesday 21 October at our usual location at the Belltown Fire Department. Don't forget we are meeting earlier at 7:00 pm.
 
The Stamford Veterans Park Partnership will honor Rick Redniss with the 2026 Patriot Award and will host an event at the Landmark building atrium on 28 October.
 
The BIG in November are the Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony on Sunday, 8 November at the Along with this event is a plethora of other celebrations, school visits and luncheons. Visit our webpage and calendar for details.
 
We mourn the passing of Fred Drenckhahn (Past Post Commander) at the age of 100 and Charles Jackson at the age of 99. Both were WWII veterans and supporters of veterans' events and causes in Stamford.

State, Local & Non-Profit partners will provide CT Veterans, Active

Duty, National Guard, Reserve Military Personnel and their

immediate family access to a variety of benefits, supports and

services at 6 Regional locations.

  • Cocktail Hour & Open Bar (Beer and Wine) with cash for mixed drinks at 6:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Dinner Service: at 7:00pm
  • When you RSVP please indicate what entrée you would like for dinner from the following selection: Slow Braised Angus Short Ribs, Tuscan Chicken ,Asian Glazed Salmon, Mixed Vegetable Tower.

A satirical reflection by Author/Artist Phil Fehrenbacher

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where you served for years in Vietnam.  He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years.  He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country".  The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.


There is a new cartoon everyday.
